Anti-Money Laundering Policy
We verify every player so that Chilliwack Casino stays free of fraud, money laundering and gambling by minors. Below we set out what we check, when the checks happen and what follows.
Why We Verify
Real money play has to stay clean. We accept players solely from regions whose laws allow online gambling, and our age checks, ID verification and anti-money laundering controls follow Canadian rules. Verification proves you are an adult, confirms who you are and shows the money you play with is yours. It also stops anyone else from getting into your account.
Your first deposit unlocks only after we confirm your identity and complete a geolocation check. Deposits start at C$10, withdrawals at C$20. Every game is played in Canadian dollars (CAD).
Source of Funds
Sometimes we need to confirm where your funds come from. This can happen after large deposits, a sudden shift in play, or withdrawals close to our daily cap of C$25,000. You may be asked to provide payslips, bank statements, proof of a property sale or proof of an inheritance. At higher activity levels, we also look at how your total wealth was built up.
Incomplete Verification
When requested documents are missing, unreadable or inconsistent with your account details, withdrawals and further deposits are paused until the problem is resolved. We will explain precisely what we need. If verification still cannot be completed, or the documents seem to be forged, the account is permanently closed. If criminal activity is suspected, funds may be held while the matter is dealt with under Canadian law.
Ongoing Monitoring
Checks do not stop after sign-up. Our systems watch for patterns that point to money laundering, including:
- Deposits followed by withdrawals with little real play
- Payment methods that belong to someone else
- Multiple accounts tied to the same person or device
- Activity that does not fit what we know about the player
Every payment method must be registered in your name. Where possible, withdrawals return to a method you deposited with. Deposits and withdrawals carry no fees.
PEP and Sanctions Screening
Every player is screened against international and Canadian sanctions lists. We also check whether a player has a prominent public role now or had one in the past, or is family of or closely connected to such a person. PEP (politically exposed person) status does not block an account by itself, but it leads to closer checks and requires senior staff approval. Players on a sanctions list are not allowed an account with us.
Records and Reporting
Verification documents, transaction records and screening results are retained for the period required by Canadian law. Where we have grounds to suspect money laundering or terrorist financing, we report it to the competent Canadian authorities, and we are legally barred from informing the player of any such report. Our Personal Data Policy explains how your data is stored and protected.
Identity and Age Checks
We may request the following to confirm your identity, age and where you live:
- Photo ID issued by a government and still valid: passport, driver's licence or provincial ID card
- A utility bill or bank statement from the past few months showing your name and home address
- Proof the payment method belongs to you, such as a bank statement or e-wallet screenshot with your name on it
- A selfie holding your ID, when we need to match your face to the document
Each document must be legible, in colour and with all four corners visible. We check documents promptly and email you the outcome.
